Many thanks to all my subscribers, spectators and followers.
"Exposure" performed by Octavia Selena Alexandru.
EXPOSURE is a cruel reality of war, facing the uncertainty of the future, a magnified personification of nature when encountered unprepared and without knowledge of how to cope with it. Wilfred Owen wrote the poem in the first person depicting the awful conditions in the trenches. But the collective voice - 'our', 'us', 'we'- reveals the unanimous powerless feeling all soldiers share. His own experience of the war and his comrades' all confront the contradiction between the battlefield conditions and the promises before enrolling in a war proved in the end with no expected certainty.
The soldiers' perceptions and emotions align to diminish their faith in God and the end of the battle.
Reading EXPOSURE in the present tense elicits peaks of understanding the moment, feelings, struggle and helplessness.
The line "But nothing happens" repeatedly appears, underlining the monotony of the night of the men in the trenches when the soldier is stuck or feels trapped day upon day in an undetermined and unforeseeable routine.
