Easy Fat Quarter Quilt Pattern for Showing Off Fabric!

I originally designed Trellis for a Stashin' with Stephanie quilt using scrappy low volume prints for the background. But I love this version using Nocturne, my first fabric collection with QT Fabrics even more.

I swapped out the scrappy background for one woodgrain background print and fussy cut the owl print to sit in the center of each of the pluses made from the coordinating prints. The one background and fussy cut owls give the eye a place to rest, which makes all the coordinating prints pop.

We are rereleasing the Trellis tutorial today because Nocturne is officially here! Yardage is available to order now, and we are taking order on all kits and bundles.

I really enjoyed that you added some process strategy! Seems like each piecing project I've done has different places where the little challenges are, and a little time spent visualizing how to avoid them (#1--messing up the layout!) really helps make it funner with less mistakes. A couple of practice blocks help me to work out those things and make a better piecing plan. In the past I've enjoyed a lot of going back and forth to my ironing board. These days I don't have space, so I have to plan my ironing sessions, so I like to build up a pile of sewn pieces-- it's never the same, the point is to maximize the thrill of creating while minimizing the agony of fixing my mess-ups! Thanks for sharing your skills and patterns! 🌟🌟🌟

I loved this tutorial, but I looked everywhere on your website to download the free “Trellis” pattern and can’t find it. What am I doing wrong?

Do you still have Trellis kits for the scrappy version?
