Struggling to figure out how to teach your baby to nap in their crib, and off of you? In this video I teach you some step-by-step strategies to begin working on crib naps instead of contact naps!

REMEMBER: There are many different sleep philosophies to choose. Inside my programs and videos here on YouTube I will teach about independent sleep spaces for you and your child. We also need to recognize (as shared in this video) that newborn contact naps will happen, and can totally be enjoyed!

I love having my baby girl sleeping in my arms, but I need to clean my house, to eat, to take a shower and so on. My back is struggling also, she's more than 5 kg.

I’ve done this for 4 naps total and today my little one fell asleep after 15 minutes and was able to put himself back to sleep when he woke up 30 minutes later! Thank you!

I started implementing these tips the day I watched this. And it’s working beautifully! Me and my baby (and my back!) thank you!!

I’m not one to comment on a video BUT I’m here to say thank you 🙏 after all else failed I came across this video and with followed the tips provided (with some of my own tweaks to suit me and my baby) and it’s worked. He slept in his crib beautifully and has been for the past 3 days now. I’m so relieved 😌. Thank you 🙏

Omg i almost cried hearing you talk the first minutes then you gave me hope that i can do this. I felt so lost n so frustrated that i wanted to give up. My baby is 3 month old almost 4 and im just struggling. I would definitely try this strategy ❤

Today was my first morning trying out these tips and it My daughter was back in her crib fast asleep in LESS than 15 minutes!!! I shushed her and gently rubbed her cheeks and forehead NONSTOP and she knocked out. Omg I’m so happy! Especially since the first hour after she’s awake is the hardest for me since I’m also still trying to wake up. Whew! Glad I get to eat my breakfast calmly and quietly this morning! Going to continue doing this from now on! 🖤

Hi,
Thanks so much for this, really helpful! Our baby of twelve weeks is falling asleep quite well in her crib, but, she struggles to stay asleep more than 45 minutes at a time..any idea on how to help her sleep longer?

I find it helps if I swaddle my baby in dark room, hold then against me upright and walk and sway and while I sway I sssshhh this really calms my baby. Then I move to cradling him so he’s in the lay down position but in my arms. This whole time I’m in a dark room and gently swaying. Then when he’s super relaxed and yawning I lay him in the cot and I crouch down out of eye sight and continue to while gently rubbing his tummy. Works a charm but baby needs to be relaxed and nice and full for it to work. If he’s a bit hungry he just cries so I stop and feed and try again xx

I thought I was the only one having the problem of my baby just being able to sleep on the sling.
My legs and back are killing me atm but definitely gonna try and leave my results soon.
Thank you for this different tip

I have a very mobile and alert curious 8.5 month old. I have always fed to sleep. His cry is unbearable though. Will this still work? Is there a way to prevent crying? How do i calm him down since he wont stop moving unless i feed him?

Hi Becca 😊 we’ve started implementing this method with our 8 week old daughter today. It takes a long time but we’ve managed to settle her!

I still love a contact nap and she is so little still. I wondered if it would be effective to use this method for some naps but not all so I still get some contact naps or should we do all naps?

Thank you so much for this video ❤

I’m thinking of trying this for my 7 week old. How long do you keep trying if they’re crying? You mentioned 30 minutes for a newborn but does that include trying to soothe him and help him fall asleep if he’s crying the whole time? In that case should I just pick him up sooner ?

Sometimes it takes me an hour to put my baby to sleep. He is so inconsistent in nap taking. Sometimes he resists them and some days he will nap for 3 hrs on me. I am trying so hard to get him to just sleep in general. I want him to take naps in crib but am struggling. It seems no matter what I do I will lay him down then he is awake 6 minutes later. Wide awake. Please help!

I live in a small space… so the room isn’t dark during the day we get a lot of natural light what do you suggest if it doesn’t get that dark

For my LO it's no longer safe to swaddle him because he started to roll over early. He will nap anywhere but his crib. When I put him in it he cries and it just breaks my heart to hear him. They say it's not good to let them cry because it makes them feel neglected and unsafe. I just want him to be safe and sleep well 😩

OMG! Just put down my 5.5 MO who had been doing contact naps since birth. She cried for 24 mins during the first nap and slept for 30 mins. For the second nap she cried for 15 mins but woke up after 15 mins. I was wondering how to get her to nap longer. I’m afraid she will be over tired if the naps are so short.
