This guy doesn't seem to know what he's talking about.. If the dollars collapses, every other currency in the world collapses.. There is no such thing as a "safe haven" currency!

You need to invest in a sound money to protect your wealth!

Such as Bitcoin, gold etc.. These are scarce, and deflationary assets!

You are correct in that these things always take far longer to play out than most expect. We know that fiat currency has a 100% failure rate, but this failure can occur very slowly. However, even barring a catastrophic failure, the US dollar and every other fiat currency is guaranteed to lose purchasing power year after year.

It's not that one fiat currency is going usurp another. It's that they're all in a race to the bottom hidden by the fact that they're all going down. It is prudent imo to have a decent chunk of your 'currency' holdings in non-sovereign store of value assets like gold and bitcoin that can't be inflated away by a central issuer.

The analogy I resonate with is that the USD is rapidly depreciating in purchasing power, 50% loss of value in the last 20 years, in fact. But it’s still the cleanest dirty shirt in a world full of currencies losing value even more steeply. And we do need to use some currency for global trade.
