What does new British PM Rishi Sunak mean for the rest of the world? | DW News

Rishi Sunak became the new leader of Britain's conservative party and is now set to be the new prime minister. He'll follow Liz Truss, a fellow conservative who resigned last week, after only 45 days in office.

Hers was the shortest term for a prime minister in UK history. But it was long enough to push the economy to the edge of a cliff. The mini buget Liz Truss proposed rattled financial markets and sent the pound plummetting and forced the Bank of England to intervene.

While markets were spooks and shocked, Rishi Sunak was not. In September, when he ran against against Liz Truss to be party leader and prime minister, he warned that Truss's economic plans were too risky. And he was right.

South Asian could mean: Afghanistan, [note, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Sunak was born in Southampton to parents of * Indian descent* who migrated to Britain from East Africa in the 1960s. So, from this we learn that he is from Bharat, a.k.a. India, because his parents and grandparents have origins there. Be specific please. It shouldn't hurt to name the country that his heritage is from.

He is mathematically inclined and understands the basics of economics. He said exactly why Liz Truss’ idea was bad without making false promises to poach her voters. He is capable and doesn’t take shortcuts for political benefits. Beyond that why does it matter how much money does he have?

If I am not mistaken Lizz Truss' father was a Mathematian university professor. Ms Truss herself studied economics, politics and philosophy at Oxford University!!!
