Why isn't Austria part of germany? (Illustrated history)

Today i talk about a Country that is famous for it's language, mountains and beer ! Germany? No! Austria! And also it's History

I think that its really funny that Austria and the ottoman empire rose to power around the same time, they became bitter rivals and fought each other for 400 years. And then they decided to fight together in ww1 where they both lost and were dismantled. Even funnier is the fact that they lost fighting the brits and the french who were also enemies historically

Long story short:
Why isn't Austria part of Germany?
Firstly because of Power dynamics and then because the Allies told the two not to marry.

In France we call croissants and pains au chocolat "viennoiseries", which could be translated as "thingies from Vienna"; so we aknowledge the Austrian origin
