The blade in European friction folders is supposed to touch the handle when it's closed on one side or another, and that's by design. It's to keep it from opening up in your pocket.

On those cheap european style friction folders one side of the blade is supposed to touch the handle scale i think. That way its less likely to open unintentionally. They really are friction folders. Its basicly feature, and not bug, but yeah they suck.

It is not a lanyard hole. Those are vents so when you put the knife in the plastic wet it can dry out. Thanks for the great video.

Do you ever check pawn shops? Some of the best value I’ve had has been through them.

Benchmades, spyderco, zt. And I live in a small town. I follow a guy on Instagram and he finds rare spydercos all the time in Denver.

I love how the kiridashi is hollowed In the back, makes sharpening super easy. I love yanagiba style blades.

I bought a MAM a while back just because I like oddball folders and I suppose that for what I paid it was a fair value but that being said I moved it along as soon as I got it.

I wouldn’t want to carry either of these knives in my pocket. But; having one in desk drawer or in a tool box would work. You can get knives at the Dollar Store for a dollar and some have covers for the blade. They come dull but, if you sharpened them up they work well for longer than you think. It just takes using a good knife steel to bring them back to a cutting edge. What to think you are going to get for a dollar? It just fun to see what their like.

Case Small Caliber, Gerber LST 08721, Buck 284 Bantam made in USA under $20 dollars
Firebird Ganzo models F759M, G729, G733 made in China under $20 dollars,
A.G. Russell FeatherLite One-Hand Knife model K93 $ 34.95 made in Japan and Taiwan 🔎🧐🔍😂

I’m always glad to spend less, lol. I usually get Rough Ryders from Chicago Knife Works. You might check out their bargain knives section — all kinds of interesting and wacky stuff in there. Great prices on RRs, Moras, etc. at CKW. $100 orders ship free. That red one you have is handy for crafting. Don’t think I’d carry it. Thanks!

Interesting. A few years ago I became interested in European traditional knives and bought a few. I have tried Antonini, Opinel, Filmam, etc. I was not very impressed with any of them. But for what they cost they are a knife that a working man can afford, and they are easily replaced. Love your knife thoughts btw.
