The best selling scooter in the world right now - the Xiaomi m365 - is also one of the cheapest on the market. But are they actually safe?

Eilis swapped in her bike for the week and put the PEV firm favourite under some serious testing.

The police absolutely love these electric scooters, they chase you, obviously wanting to have a go of your scooter.

No reason to be afraid of rain. Nothing bad ever happened to me during 1200 km and almost a year worth of commuting even in the worst weather.

Make it legal already ! I see them everywhere in London, they are fun, what's the difference with e-bikes?
Come on! They are eco friendly too.

m365 is like a corolla of Escooters. m365s can be modified with higher voltage and capacity, what can increase top speed and acceleation. As well, i seen 2wd modifications, as well brake upgrades. Standard m365 brakes are not too much. Thanks god, where is a bolt on upgrades are avalable.
As well tons of sofware upgaeds are avalable and you can tune it as much as you want.
I did modifiy two m365s for a last mile delivery. Triple battery capacity, over 70 miles per charge with pretty good accelearation. They love them.

Nice review. I currently have a solar P1 which is amazing fun. And I ride motorcycles so that's saying something lol. Give them a try, they're based in West London. Keep up the good work 👏 👍

Would be great if you acknowledged the EU speed limit of 15.5 MPH and also that these scooters are still illegal to own and use on public roads in the UK. Great video otherwise and you can speed hack the scooter to make it 23 MPH.

I think you need to adjust the stem, shouldn’t be wobbling like that, everything you mentioned can be countered with a mod, faster speeds with a flash, suspension and bigger tyres can all be added. I been using one for 6 months I ride in the rain no problem, but maybe my one is well sealed. ( you can also waterproof it to an extent) still prefer it to a TFL bus which gets stuck in traffic and carries on going past the bus stops due to Covid passenger limits or being a replacement school bus.

Bought 2 (black and white) almost 4years ago now, in Q2 2017.
Price was 417pounds /piece and that was considered quite cheap, prices went above 440pounds for a looong time after that.
The M365 has been surclassed for sure but is till very good compared to similar priced products.
You can have much much better now, but its more in the 900-1000pounds range.

great video. Yes they are still illegal, you must admit its far safer during these crap times that its better to own your own scooter. and your less likely to catch covid than using public transport.
FOR CRIST SAKE BORIS LEGALISE OUR SCOOTERS. Disgruntled Zero 9 owner.

It's officially illegal on the public roads in the UK right? Same here in the Netherlands

On your video, you mentioned that you can take your scooter, on public transport. This is no longer possible, because of some batteries exploding, London transport have banned e-scooters on public transport.

3:10 you know you can slow down on the electric scooters. You don't need to drive at 15mph on the pavement and you can use your brakes which might actually do you more good if your regenerating electricity. I've seen wheelchairs whizzing passed me in lockdown (like 5 of them group of old people just taking up the whole pavement like they was having a race was unusual). These are perfectly fine on the pavement if your going slow and careful and just respecting others. You also have a bell to ding and i've seen many videos of people doing long riding sessions using the bell and people actually moving out the way. Theres no real harm being done with it just dont full speed past people is all.

Okay...where do i start... i have owned one since 2017...used it for the short commute to work..i was lucky...my work place had a shed that was used to store old office furniture...it had lighting and power points so i was able to lock my scooter in the shed plus top up the battery so i always had power. The battery does need protection from water ingress so i used my initiative.. made a waterproof jacket to fit around the footboard...what i will say is the scooter is forgiving...very controllable...gives you confidence..also the mods...where do i start !!!... i reccomend the M365 all day and night !!👍👍👍
