I am confused with the accent used for macchina. If were to split by syllable, wouldn’t it be ma / cchi / na? As the second to last syllable it seems it would be accented on “cchi”, no? I lucked out saying this close to correct only because it reminded me of máquina in Spanish - but Spanish has the accent.

I was wondering if I’m splitting the word incorrectly or if there is some other rule I’m missing or if there exist other exceptions that apply here.

Are there any hints on how to identify that a word is stressed on the third-to-last syllable? If I see "tavola", how can I know that it's "tAvola" and not "tavOla"?

Giulia, sono confuso a proposito di ``sè``, di ``sé``, di ``sè stesso`` e di ``sé stesso``. Quali esistono? Qual è la pronuncia della ``e``? (Spero che la pronuncia della ``e`` con l`accento grave sia sempre aperta, e con l`accento acuto sempre chiusa)

I'm confused about "mia" at the end of name...translators say one thing but may it's not right. Or is it an exception. IE: Lalumia versus La Lumia. Please help!!!
