When you have to compete against companies with grants and bailouts, your competitors are using your own tax money to beat you. We don't take handouts we earn your business. I remember this situation in 2008. And later for the automotive industry. What those places don't realize is, shit rolls down hill. That 2008 bailout not only cost me my job but getting a new job in my field. Instead, I ended up as a dock worker. Now I'm making about the same money as I did with my old job in 2008. When you have a 50+ year old man trying to get back into a trade he hasn't been in for 15 years, the employer only wants to hire you in as an apprentice. Fuck that. I made those wages in my 20's.
