Top 10 Weird/Creepy Pokedex Entries - Pokemon Fact of the Day

Hey everybody, and welcome to fact of the day! As I mention in the video, I'm going to try and supplement FOTD with general Pokemon facts whenever I need more time to research specifically card-related facts. I hope you guys enjoy today's video regardless though--it's about some of the creepiest and strangest Pokedex entries around!

This one isn't really 'creepy', but I think this one is kind of weird.

Grimer's Pokedex entry in Alpha Sapphire reads: "Grimer emerged from the sludge settled on a polluted seabed. This Pokemon loves anything filthy. *It constantly leaks a horribly germ-infested fluid from all over its body.* "

So, Grimer's body isn't the sludge? I thought the possibilities could be...

-There is a solid body under the sludge
-Grimer is just sludge emitting more sludge
-Grimer's inner organs are emitting the fluid, and are suspended in it
or
-I'm really overthinking this

Fun fact:

Spoink acts as the ball launcher in Pokemon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire. Usually it stays in place bouncing slightly to keep its heart going. However, when you draw back to launch the ball, Spoink will stop bouncing and the sprite will turn slightly red, implying that its blood isn't pumping.



And you thought it was just pinball

I'm only about a minute into this video but i thought I'd say that Xatu's ruby pokemon entry creeps the shit out of me incase you don't say the same thing.

"XATU stands rooted and still in one spot all day long. People believe that this POKéMON does so out of fear of the terrible things it has foreseen in the future."

Why did they use Indian elephants specifically? Couldn't they use any full size elephant as a standard?

Another tragic one like Spoink I would like to bring up is Slugma. It's Gold Pokedex entry says "It never sleeps. It has to keep moving because if it stopped, its magma body would cool and harden." So does that mean that like Spoink if it stops moving it will die?

Here’s what the Pokedex has to say about Delibird:

“It nests at the edge of sharp cliffs. It spends all day carrying food to its awaiting chicks.”

Again, nothing weird about that, until you start thinking about the fact that you just stumbled across an animal that was carrying food for its hungry children and either beat it senseless, or beat it senseless and then stuffed it in a pokeball. Congratulations, kid! You wanted to beat Brock, so now there’s a nest of baby Delibirds out there that are going to starve to death in the cold wondering where their mother is.

There's this theory I made:

Cubone's egg is made.
The mother, weak with childbirth, takes a rest.
The mom watches the Cubone born.
The mother remembers what she did when she was a child and braces herself.
The Cubone, with instinct, attackes it's mother.
The mother, already weak, dies.
Cubone snaps out of it, and realizes what it's done.
Cubone mourns forever, wearing her skull and wielding her bone as a reminder of what's it's done.

Lol, I remember, when I was younger, Duskull was my fav Pokemon -it still is one of my fav. I just found it absolutely cute and funny:3 When I read that Pokedex entry on my Diamond/Pearl game, I started crying:) Not because I was SCARED or something...I just cried so Duskull could hear me and come by:) Ridiculous, I know XD

Pokemon are actually based off Japanese Shintoism and if you look into Shintoism mythology, there's actually a lot of creepy, scary and downright dark, so it'd make sense for Pokemon to carry over some of that creepiness
