Best/Worst Lunch Meats

We always have lunch meat in the fridge for grab-and-go snacks or adding to a sandwich, wrap, or breakfast burrito for an easy high-protein meal.

Unfortunately, like most packaged foods, not all lunch meats are created equal, and many highly-processed additives and unnecessary ingredients can be found in many deli-cut meats.

What To Avoid:

- Added Sugars (more than 1 gram per serving)
- Nitrates/Nitrites
- Carrageenan
- Dextrose and Maltodextrin
- Sodium Phosphate/Erythorbate/Benzoate/Diacetate
- Caramel Color
- High Sodium (more than 300 mg sodium per serving)

My choice today is @applegate Smoked Turkey Breast which has the added bonus of No Antibiotics Ever. I’ll also often go to the deli and ask for @boarshead_official no artificial ingredients, minimally processed, no nitrates/nitrites added options.

I hate it when they make it ultra processed because meat should not contain more than 1 ingredient. So I’m glad you’re against ultra processing

Are there any others that are a good option that do have the caramel color? I feel like that isnt the worst of the bunch :)
