In defence of Bayverse Prime, he literally died and was the last line of defence for Sam, and for all he knew, the decepticons had pretty much won and we’re going to blow up Earth via the harvester in RoTF till he came back. In DotM, sentinel had Betrayed the Autobots and was about to inslave all of humanity till the Autobots showed up and Optimus just kept losing more and more of his friends to not just Decepticons but also humans. His “dissent into madness” makes plenty of sense and he still didn’t give up on humanity so props to him for still have faith in earth till he found out it was Unicorn lol

Optimus from Bayverse has a reason to be brutal, he suffered like hell, He saw friends and family die, he was betrayed, 2 TIMES, he died and came back to life, and there is much more, he is just taking out his anger with reason

I think it's because the Bayverse Decepticons are very aggressive and psychopaths there are times when all options are exhausted you can't let them live you have to kill them anyway

Bayverse Prime always had to go for the kill because a human was almost always in danger. When TFP Prime saw what Megatron did to Rafael he literally solo stormed the decepticon warship and let Megatron catch those hands with no mercy about to kill him.

Bayverse prime during the forest battle was more pissed and realising its "do or die" over being ruthless but after the harvester comes online he realises "enough is enough the gloves need to come off"

Seriously, Optimus can't count that he won't have to be a bit more violent all the time. I mean, Decepticons are merciless and they surely wouldn't spare him, his Autobots or mankind from any harm. I totally understand Bayverse Prime. He's still my favorite version from the character.
