Two Way Lookup Formula Using INDEX and MATCH

Create a two way lookup formula using the INDEX and MATCH functions. This versatile and dynamic lookup formula will look for data in any row or column.

The most common lookup formula is VLOOKUP. This is useful but restrictive. The INDEX and MATCH functions together are very flexible. You can return data from a column to the left of the lookup value column, and also create a dynamic column to return from.
