My condolences to the poor man's family and friends.

I feel sad he didn't have a buddy alone side him for safety reasons.

Pretty shocking for that woman to see the kind of damage a shark can do to you with her own eyes, while in the water, that would keep me on dry land for sure...

It’s real rare! Tell that to the dead guy!

I was at that spot just a couple days before the tragic incident.. it’s a beautiful and relaxing spot, but what took place is a harsh reminder of how brutal Mother Nature can be

That’s so horrible. I hope she can find some peace through the trauma of what she saw.

What a horrific incident. I pray that he is resting peacefully now and I also pray that his loved ones can find peace and healing as well. 💔🙏🏻

Cali is bad but you have to be Freekin nuts to enter the Ocean in Australia. I would consider a pool that’s it.

Like waiting 24 hours is going to create safe conditions???

How rare this really is? Seems to me if you look worldwide & add bull sharks, tiger sharks, oceanic white tips, these attacks are not rare enough to make me comfortable. Surf as buddies close to one another, dive as buddies close to one another, pay attention at all times...

Same thing happened almost a year ago off the Eastern Cape Coast of South Africa (Cinsta), only difference being they never recovered his body; he was completely consumed also by a GW. What a terrible way to die. RIP.

Great White shark attacks are common on the central coast.

For those that don’t know the shark bit his head and shoulder off. That’s why cpr wasn’t necessary

I don’t think shark attacks are as rare as they say. If you take shark attacks divided by the amount of surfers. It’s probably pretty high. If you take the average person 8 billion of us then the chances are super small.

TheMalibuArtist is a youtuber who takes drone footage of great whites in southern cali and he says there are most definitely more and more sightings than usual.. it’s mostly juveniles though that swim amongst people all the time and dont attack but every once in a while an adult white comes around and those are the dangerous ones..

There was also a presumed shark attack a few years ago at Avila Beach. That beach is just south of Morro Bay and sharks had been reported in that area. The presumed victim was a lady who was doing shark research. She went out on her kayak and was never seen again. They did find her kayak though.

My condolences goes to the family.

The ocean is a shark's home, we take a risk, and sometimes it's fatal.

Sharks eat people all the time and they are just classified as "drownings unable to find the body" Go listen to the channel "sharks happen" stories that will make your hair stand up.

The ignorance in most of these comments is astounding...
