The mob gave Liston an offer he couldn't refuse.

It's call: taking a fall. Liston was a bill collector for the Mafia.😉

One of the “softest” knockout punches of all time.Liston must’ve been in some serious debt to the wrong people!

Even Liston's wife knew the fix was in and felt she had to come up with an excuse lol

"Phantom punch, " known to be a rigged fight, but unknown to Ali.

Liston didn't want to take another beating like he did in the first fight. George Chuvalo, Canadian Heavyweight Champion, sitting at ringside said, "It was not kosher, it was a powder punch, not hard enough to keep a big powerful man like Liston down."

Sonny Charles had a tragic life from the moment he was born. I have pity for him.

That punch is called the anchor punch. Untelegraphed, it caught Liston coming in, following Ali in an undefensive posture. All Liston saw was Ali's glove filling up his face. Probably gave him a stinger and locked his whole back up.

Threats to his family and not knowing their whereabouts at the time of the fight. Not the first time in this sport when a lot of money is on the line

It's a well known fact Liston was owned by the mob. The mob cleaned up on this fight because nobody expected a young Cassius Clay to win.

Muhammad Ali really shouted, "Get up and fight, sucka! Don't take money from the mob! Get up sucka!"

Ali was faster and more skilled, but Liston had instrucctions from the mob, maybe his own money was being gambled too

Mr Liston didn’t want to wind up a punching bag like the last fight so he took an easy way out.. makes sense he did the right thing..
