Sorry but the tiger fish Jeremy Wade caught he didn’t release the fish! The fish never recovered so the fish was fed to the people in the village!

Jeremy wade did not put the Goliath tiger fish back in the river, the local fisherman Guide that was with him, said that the fish was a bad omen, and that if he releases it back into the water the local village community would be very angry, and this would have been very dangerous for him. So Jeremy waited for the fish to die, he then was forced to pass the fish over to the village community. He then became a hero for bringing them the omen fish to feed the hungry people of the village.
I know this to be accurate as I have watched the tv series on ITV4.

Jeremy wanted to release it. But it died of its wounds due to the fight in white water. Jeremy was heartbroken that it died but the guide he was using demanded it be given to the village were its victims lived. Get the story right. Jeremy is a catch and release fisherman.
