reminds me of the w/u drawer, useless/worthless bits of information, random or specific.

I think the tool you mentioned is looking at the internal links that are on that page not links that are coming to that page.
People will need tools like screaming from SEO spider

Well done Chris. The only question I have is let's say you have a money page for "best widgets". linking from other pages (aka topical authority) how often do you use "best widgets" or do you try to vary each one like "best widgets", "top widgets"(using the different keywords GSC shows for the page). or is it better to use "best widgets for x", like using the original keyword but with extra anchor text?

i would think that you'd try to put the most effort into the most-searched term and less in ones with say 50% of the search impressions as the top one. i'm trying to look at top results to try to get an idea for what google wants (and i realize this likely has some flexibility depending on the term and topic). i went back to change internal linking to a money page i am optimizing and i made it more varied using the different terms from GSC instead of "best widgets" and i think i actually lost a spot or two.

1. Should we follow a particular structure while building internal links or we should only focus on relevancy and the page that are most important.

2. I have a plumbing site, in which I have a page which is commercial plumbing and I want to link back to home page. So my main keyword for commercial plumbing page is "Commercial plumber in brookings oregon", and I am using this keyword in the first 100 words in commercial page, so can I link back to home page with using just this part "plumber in brookings oregon" of the phrase" commercial plumber in brookings oregon" as anchor text, as it is my main keyword for home page.

In nutshell, I want to ask if we can use part of the main keyword phrase for a particular page as an anchor text for linking.
