Hands-on Bio-Genetics workshop for kids is a 4 Day course that happens on every Sundays from January 27 to February 17 2018.

Your kid will learn:-

Class 3 to 5 | AGE 7-10

Make your own microscope.
Make a colour changing rose.
How to create a fossil?
Let's grow zebrafish tail.
Learn DNA isolation from a banana.
Class 6 and above | AGE 11-15

Build your own microscope.
Cultivation of the bacteria.
How plants got their green colour.
Get introduced about stem cells and their ability to regenerate.
Study the effect of toxic food materials that we use daily
Let's test the memory of zebrafish.
Things required for the experiment will be given to the kids and take away manuals which consist of experiments to perform in the home will also be provided.

Video is nice and excellent!!!!...I am sorry to say Idly is not a non-vegetarian because bacteria is classified neither plants nor animals.

Let us discuss the criteria for animals and bacteria. Animals are a living organism that feeds on organic matter, typically having nervous system (நரம்பு மண்டலம்), sense organs (உணர்வு உறுப்புகள்) and able to respond quickly whereas, bacteria are unicellular microorganisms that have cell walls but lack of organelles (உள்ளுறுப்புகள்) and also absence of definite nucleus.

In the 17th century, scientist Leeuwenhoek proposed bacteria belonged to animal kingdom and later 18th century scientists considered bacteria belonged to plants kingdom. But in the 19th century bacteria belong to Monera kingdom which is neither animal kingdom nor plant kingdom.

As a conclusion, Idly was non-veg before bacteria was classified as Monera but not at present.

Since idly does not contain any animal meat so we consider Idly as vegetarian…
