A quick video showing the Gaugemaster track pad that I use attached to the leading axle of a brake van in N gauge.

Still kicking myself for not thinking of this.
Countless hours wasted at shows cleaning track and fighting with running issues caused by dirt.
I'll be fitting these to several of my wagons now mate in preparation for when the exhibition circuit restarts.
Thanks for sharing.

Good idea. I've just bought a Tomix cleaning truck for my 009 but it needs pulling.

I just found this video and had never heard of these. I have a Japanese n-gauge layout using mainly Kato and Tomix trains and was looking at the Tomix track cleaning car but it is a bit expensive, particularly if its imported from Japan and I get stung by import tax and shipping, and I've noticed the one made by Dapol is identical and the same price as an imported Tomix one. At the moment I just use a track cleaning stick with a sponge head that came with my Kato track starter pack that works fine but my track is a bit awkward to get to in places so these look ideal. For the price they are they look ideal but if they don't fit my train or don't work very well I can afford to take the loss but I don't see why there should be any problems. Thanks for this vid, you may have just saved me 70 quid! Oh btw, can they be used dry or does adding the IPA just add a bit of extra cleaning power?

Yes, I have also been using these pads. What is IPA?

Interesting stuff Jason. One quick question please: when you say you ‘clean the pad’ - how do you do that? Cheers, Andrew
