Quality is an absolute gamechanger on specific items, and close to useless on others. It really starts to work great once you got the recycler on Fulgora.

You didn't mention the biggest gotcha with quality. You need to filter quality items off of belts feeding your assembling machines if you want to avoid fouling the line and blocking production. Also epic quality is locked behind the science pack you get on Gleba and legendary quality is locked behind all of the science packs - so all 4 planets. Interesting mechanic, definitely worth exploring.

Trying to imagine configuring and automating the quality system makes me want to rip my hair out.

Actually everything about this game does that.

In general, quality doesnt seem to be worth the extra complexity, but it is fun to collect basic high quality ingredients and make high quality ammo and shells. Those really do pack a punch.

The new alt+M1 menu shows all the items and you can hover the diamond symbols so it tells you the effect each level of quality will have.

tbh, this seems like something i wont use untill like, late late game, because it seems like pain to filter and care for everythign. when do you think people should start looking into quality?

nice explanation i wonder whats about liquids? of course you can find it out yourself but a quick mention about it would have been nice ;)

I find quality really annoying and wish it wasn't included at all. It makes things so much more complicated and breaks the simple designs of the old game. The benifit is very minimal.
