Have you faced this error "user is not in the sudoers file"
If yes then this is how to solve it.

The group domain users translate to the following line in /etc/sudoer

This is a simple active directory lookup that is set in the sudoer file in ubuntu.

Lifesaver, I've been wrecking my brain all day long on this. Your video was the first that gave a clear explanation to what I was actually adding in sudoers and it worked rightaway too.. Thanks!🙏

Just wanted to say, THANK YOU! I've been scouring the web to find what syntax I was missing to get a Security Group to have sudo. Your video was perfect and got me working.

Very good example bro... subtle details like that always go uncovered.

Hi. I have an Oracle Linux server that’s joined to an Active Directory domain. I want to grant a specific Active Directory group the ability to switch to the oracle user without entering a password using the su - oracle command. How can I achieve this? Could you provide an example for configuring the sudoers file correctly to allow members of this group to execute the command without a password prompt?

Thank you for your guidance.

This is great but you have not limited the logon action itself. EVERY user in your domain can logon to this server.

Hello good video, but this is not working for me. I am on Ubuntu server 20.04 that has joined a Windows Server 2019 domain. I am using a home lab domain called 'thewaldens' and a group called 'Ubuntu'. I used 'sudo visudo' instead of nano and this is what I have added to the sudoers' file.
# Allow members of group sudo to execute any command
%sudo ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL
Any ideas?
