I nearly choked on my coffee when you said how much it cost. While watching my first thought was it seemed quite heavy, then it looked a faff to assemble, can imaging it would be a nightmare in high winds or bad weather. I started to think while watching that my Helm 3 is a better tent and then when I checked the price of that at the end I realised I could buy 3 of them for the price of the vault duo. Can’t see it being a big seller but thanks for sharing the first look.

Great first look, 2 problems with this tent for me.1, speaking from experience pitching dome tents with pole sleeves not clips is that its a nightmare in any wind to the point I wont do it anymore and 2, as a staika owner and this tent being £950 id just spend the extra to get the staika.

I brought my first Vango dome tent in 1995 it cost around £120 and lasted about 15 years. Had a lot of fun in that! I can’t see it being more fun thou at £950. Don’t get me wrong they make some good stuff but bugger they’re expensive for what they are. It would need to be about 60% off to be a feasible option.

It’s basically a Pioneer 2 with an extra set of poles.
Love my Pioneer and a 1/3 of the price. Get one in the sale folks.

Given the weight and price, if you also consider the new OEX line and the white Forclaz, I think recently the tent makers are ver far away from the end user at the moment. Maybe they need to read somd of the comments on channels such as yours and see what people actually want.

Quite a nice looking tent... but 950 quid?

I'd spend a little bit more and go for a Hilleberg Allak. I do like Terra Nova tents and I've had a couple in the past, but the price for this one is ridiculous in my opinion.

I looked over a friends abisko dome 2.about the same price range.the abisko also has 2 side vents which makes ventilation great.just got my daughter the alpkit viso 2 so no more tent buying for me.cheers for giving us a out the bag look paul.
