World’s largest offshore wind farm: The day and night working there

China is building the world’s largest and most distant offshore wind farm in the middle of the Yellow Sea, aiming to complete it by the end of November. But due to bad weather over the summer – including 10 typhoons – construction is behind schedule. Weather permitting, labourers work day and night, even during the National Day holiday. Once complete, the array of windmills will produce 870 million kwh of electricity per year, equivalent to the annual demand of nearly 1 million families.

"Once complete, the array of windmills will produce 870 million kwh of electricity per year".
870 million kWh = 870 GWh.
Offshore wind farms that already produce (approximately) more than that include Northwind (BE, 875 GWh), Anholt (DK, 1666 GWh), Dan Tysk (DE, 1300 GWh), Nordsee One (DE, 1300 GWh), Nordsee Ost (DE, 1200 GWh), Veja Mate (DE, 1600 GWh), Geminy (NL, 2600 GWh), Dudgeon (UK, 1750 GWh), Gwynt y Mor (UK, 1880 GWh), Rampion (UK, 1366 GWh), Sheringham Shoal (UK, 1100 GWh).
It seems to be some confusion in the article.

Enough for just one million families? What's the population in China? Need hundreds do them!

This is great. US citizens thank China for developing green energy. We need to create a way to remove CO2 from atmosphere, additionally.

This "big" project (wonder how much it costs) produce 870m kwh pa for 1m families. But they have 1.2b people 😂

Umm wouldn’t just building bunch of Tesla batteries somewhere remote be a better idea?

Is the project sacrificing the ecosystem? Three gorges dam is the largest hydroelectric plant in the world and it completely destroyed the ecosystem of china's largest river, including pushing baiji, the river dolphins, into extinction.
