Local Storage vs Cloud Storage. What is best for your business?

Показать описание
Hello again from RadiusBridge
Today I am going to explore the topic of local storage vs cloud storage and what is best for your business
Let us go over the two types of storage
First up we have local storage. Local storage consists of media that is usually directly connected to either your computer or your network and is usually a physical piece of equipment. Saving data to external hard-drives or USB drives are examples of local storage.
The pros of local storage are that your company is directly responsible for the preservation of your data as opposed to a third party. Data is also safe from Cyber attacks once removed from the network.
Some of the cons of local storage are that your company is responsible for backing up the data. Setting this up correctly usually involves some technical know-how. Do this wrong and you risk losing your data forever. Local storage also takes up a lot of physical space since you always have several rotating drives. Physical space also means money. Businesses will constantly be needing to purchase additional drives to keep up with the growing data demand. The physical media that holds your data is also susceptible to cyber attacks because it is connected to the same network your computers are on.
Next we have cloud storage
Cloud store is the most recent digital form of data storage. Cloud storage essentially consist of off-site server backing up your data over an internet connection.
Some pros of cloud storage include taking the physical aspect out of the companies’ hands, ensuring the data is never lost. No longer needing physical storage means saving money. Cloud storage does not have data limits so no more buying another physical drive when the previous drive reaches its storage limits. Cloud storage also makes it easy to modify how your data is saved. Backups can be saved incrementally, meaning when a user makes changes, or daily. Or a combination both and usually accomplishing that only takes a few clicks.
Cons of cloud storage include trusting a third party with your data. We only use providers of cloud storage that have been in the business for years and have a phenomenal track record of keeping businesses data safe.

- Penetration Testing: Website - OpenVAS
Receive a weekly Vulnerabilities Assessment of your Website that is an in-depth scan showing security issues as compared against a suite of constantly updated tools (OpenVAS). This test should be run regularly as there are new threats always being discovered. Your website ages and changes making it vulnerable to new attacks that allow hackers to email from your domain, deface your content, destroy your sales process, and attack your business in new and dangerous ways.
OpenVAS is the most advanced open source vulnerability scanner, which is able to actively detect thousands of vulnerabilities in network services such as: SMTP, DNS, VPN, SSH, RDP, VNC, HTTP and many more. OpenVAS does vulnerability detection by connecting to each network service and sending crafted packets in order to make them respond in certain ways. Depending on the response, the scanner reports the service as vulnerable or not.
The testing currently has more than 57,000 active plugins which can detect a huge number of vulnerabilities for numerous services and applications.
