People are weird, and some do some truly strange things on a cruise. Here's our list of the weirdest things our readers spotted on a cruise ship.

I am pretty sure that the guy in the holloween costume was me. I was in a squirrel holloween costume on Symphony of the Seas in the spring of 2019. I danced in Johnny Rockets and rode the carousel on the last sea day. I definitely got lots of bewildered looks. I got asked why I did it by other passengers and simply replied with "why not?". You only live once, and now I have a funny memory I will have forever.

During our Norwegian cruise, there were these two couples (adults, who were clearly sailing together) that would walk their towel animals every day. They would take them everywhere they went. Their collection kept getting larger every day as it was a 12 night cruise. They started using belts and robe belts as leashes and would parade all their animals with them. In the main dining room, I saw that they must have requested water bowls for their new found pets. I kept wondering how the towel animals did not fall apart with all the handling, but they there were. Every day! 😄

On one cruise there was a couple who had an elmo toy with them. They would take pictures and blog Elmos travels. That's fine. The funny part, Elmo had a tuxedo on the first formal night. On the second formal night, he had on a different tuxedo. This toy had a better wardrobe than me.

Met a friendly man in the Crown and Anchor lounge wearing a suit with flamingos on it, including matching shoes, introduced himself as Mr Flamingo. He sat down and chatted at our table with us, and his wife came over and laughed saying “If he introduced himself as Mr Flamingo then he’s drunk! His name is Brian!”

I was on Anthem of the Seas and half way through the cruise I met this lady riding on one of those knee scooters. You know, those medical scooters that people that have broken something below the knee would ride around stores and such. Anyways, I jokingly mentioned she injured her leg right before the cruise salsa dancing. She laughed and said "Nope, broke it in the Skating area earlier today. They offered to send me to a hospital. But I paid TOO much for this cruise and I'm going to enjoy it." XD
(For those that don't know. Anthem has a Roller Skating area. Right where the Bumper Cars are as well)

We were on a cruise last year and there was a body builder on board, and every single morning he ate 12 hard boiled eggs and then had a huge breakfast after that. And his tiny wife got a bowl of fruit every morning.

I was at the buffet waiting to be served. The guest in front of me asked for a bowl of hollandaise sauce. He kept asking for more scoops until the bowl was completely full.

Did I see someone ask last night about a group cruise you are having December of 2024 on The Explorer. Where is it leaving from? Is it a 7 day cruise? What are the inside rates for one person. Or hopefully two by then. You're the Best.

I had to laugh at the girl in short shorts...My wife wears those alot here in AZ. Temp in summer is always around 118 degrees...alot of women wear short shorts.

We attended the Newly Weds and Nearly Deads game on a cruise. One question was, “If you were stranded on an uninhabited island, who would you least like to be with?” His answer was “Her son”. They were never seen together again and he was seen sleeping in different areas of the ship. At least he wasn’t thrown over-board.

We had an experience in the ADULT POOL with small children swimming until one threw up in the pool. Needless to say the pool was shut down for the rest of the day

Regarding shoplifting a Royal Caribbean ship, where would they go? On a ship in the open ocean, there are no real escape options and I'm sure security on a Royal Caribbean ship could track a shoplifter without losing them.
