You want to learn how to measure your kitchen cabinets for your upcoming renovation? In this video, Kitchen Cabinet Kings explains what materials you'll need and how to measure your kitchen walls, obstructions, appliances, and utilities so you can create a proper floor plan for your upcoming remodel. The best kitchen plans start with accurate measurements, so let's dive in!

Step #1 - Gather a ruler, steel measuring tape, painter's tape, a pencil or pen, and grid paper to get started. Draw your kitchen floor plan, including windows, obstructions, water and gas lines, and outlets. Number the walls for optimal organization.

Step #2 - Measure the full lengths of all kitchen walls first. Use painter's tape to label the walls you've measured.

Step #3 - Measure the lengths of smaller segments within each wall. Include trim or molding in these measurements.

Step #4 - Measure the full width of each wall in your kitchen.

Step #5 - Record the ceiling heights. Also measure the height of cabinets, soffits, and windows.

Step #6 - Don't forget to check for obstructions like vents, pipes, floor registers, or radiators so you can include them on your floor plan.

Step #7 - Make a list of all appliances and record the width, height, and depth of each on your floor plan.

Step #8 - If you have a kitchen island, include the measurements on your floor plan as well.

Step #9 - Double-check all of your measurements.
