My dog of 14 years 8 months had a stroke 10 days ago June 13th 2021. She was springer spaniel, choc lab mix. As the week progressed she worsened to not eating and unable to move much at all. I never wanted to ever put a dog down as my other two have passed naturally over the last 27 years as a dog owner. Putting down my best friend for 14 years 8 months was the most devastating thing I have ever experienced besides the death of a family member. Prayers to you all that have to ever go through this with your pet if it has had a stroke as I pray for recovery for your furry friend.

My last dog had three strokes before we had to have her put to sleep at age 15.

Do they seize up and tremble? Or is this more indicative of a seizure? How can we tell the difference?

My dog has seizures and he had one this morning and one of his eyes are blood shot red and he can barely open it

My 14y dog had a stroke all these symptoms, devastating to witness. Dog was distressed heavily panting. The vet only offered to sedation to then take her home. Vet never offered proper treatment such as IV Fluids and IV corticosteroids. So I felt only kind option was to put to sleep, 2 sedations prior. Very angry that the vet didn't do what they would have learnt at University!

Is it true that nothing can be done when a dog has a stroke? No medications can be given? Only pills to ease the pain? I'm so frustrated. I'm the owner of a 7 year old husky and I can't believe what has happend to her at such a young age and at times I doubt whether in Malta we have good vets who really know how they can cure this disease.

My dog fell over and started twitching then he got up walked inside fell over again, wet him self, and couldnt move his back half.
