I have been working with colored pencils for about 45 years now. It's insane and how I started out. My first set was Prismacolor and Still my go to. I have so many sets of colored pencils. My favs are Prismacolor, Holbein, and Polychromos. I love Inktense and Albrect Druer water color pencils.

I loved how you showed the artwork you did with the respective pencils! That was very inspring. 🥰

Derwent light fast and Derwent drawing are my all-time favorite pencils to work with although there are colors from the polychromos line but you could not pay me to give up because I draw a lot of voter realistic animals. The big thing about the Derwent light fast is that they are Derwent very first oil-based pencil and yet they feel as smooth as any amazing wax pencil if not smoother. I love that Derwent made these two lines to be colors from nature they are not fluorescence they are not neons they are not colors we don't seem naturally.

Absolutely fascinating video. Thanks Shana. I too love Inktense, but had the Derwent watercolour pencils first. Now, because Inktense are so vibrant even when washed out, I struggle with Derwent’s original watercolour line. Obviously, I still have then all. I am, unlike yourself, first and foremost an art supply collector. I wouldn’t even call myself an artist, not even if whispered quietly to myself. I find true artists, such as yourself to be an utter joy to watch, as well as incredibly relaxing. Thanks again, and I look forward to watching more of this series over the coming weeks/months/year! 🤷‍♀️❤️🖌️🎨👩🏻‍🎨❤️

Colored pencils are the best, easy to control, & don’t make a mess. Great for a small art space.

Hello my name is Anastasia and I'm a former art supply addict, the struggle 😂. I slowed down after accessing and realizing how much stuff I've accumulated over time, what supplies I'm more partial to, and naturally adult priorities(bills and stuff lol). This is a great video, very informative and helpful, and your art is gorgeous! I want to built a nice colored pencil collection with Derwent Lightfast, Carandache Luminance, and Polychromos, and sell some pieces too💕🔥

Intense uses dyes instead of pigments so they are inherently more fugitive but the color payout and layerability is worth it, especially if you sell prints!

I enjoyed watching this and seeing your pencil journey. Very similar to my own including the Bruynzeel drawer set (although I got the 48 gifted from my husband) and the recent Pablo purchase too. Now, if I could just do what you do with yours so beautifully then I would be set 😆 Definitely a journey.

OMG!!! That's a huge colored pencils supplies! And I love it! I have to said, I'm very impressed when you show your collection of Derwent Drawing, I forgot this beauty, because I have only a 24 set, and you do awesome works with this! And I think many artists have forgotten about these colored pencils, but not you! and that's very good, because they are extremely fabulous! They are lightfast, they contain a lot of color in the barrels, for me, they are very important to have! I, in order of my favorite colored pencils, would put Derwent Lightfast first and then, Prismacolor, Faber Castell Polychromos, and Koh-I-Noor. I would love to see the Soho colored pencils, and the bruynzeel pencils. And the Lightfast information. As always, I love your videos, but I'm going to save this one, I think it's fantastic! just like others I've saved of yours, lol!😅❤❤❤

I have my mother's Prismacolor pencils that are Berol and Eagle, from a long time ago. Love having them and being able to use them as she did.

I loved this video! I am a art supply "enthusiast", maybe hoarder to some people, lol. I love my Luminance, Polychromos, Derwent Drawing, and Inktense. I have been looking to get some watercolor pencils and from this video, I think I may like the Albrecht Durer better than the Derwent. I have the Cretacolor Marinos and they're okay but I've read conflicting information on their lightfastness. You said there will be a pastel video in the future, I'll look forward to it. Do you use Pastel Pencils ever? I have an old set from art school of the Stabilos they had us get for a class and last year bought a set of Conte's. I'd be curious if you have any in the different ways you use them, techniques, etc.
