I know it’s a mixed bag but I personally really enjoyed Mario Party 9. It’s not my preferred formula as nothing will ever top the classic Mario Party set up, but it was enjoyable at least to me.
They tried something new, and I appreciate that. It’s nice when games switch things up, sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s bad. I like the concept of working for Mini Stars instead of Power Stars and I think boss battles are PERFECT for Mario Party. The King Bob-omb fight and the Spike fight were always my favorites growing up

As much as I hate Mario Party 9, the boss minigames were a super cool idea, and this is one of my favorites... when you're playing with human players. You can't really fake-out and psyche-out AI players. :p
