How to REMOVE a FENCE with Photoshop Elements

Here is a Photoshop Elements fix for those times you have to shoot through a fence.

Sometimes you have to shoot through a fence to get the shot you want. You can either leave the fence in as part of the composition, like fences in a zoo demonstrating how dangerous the lion is. Or you can remove the fence to show the subject clearly. Here is a fix to remove the fence. This is a more advanced project, but no reason a beginner can't try this as well. The only way you learn is by trying. This technique is based on several Adobe Photoshop techniques that I found on YouTube. I have adjusted and modified the tricks used to work with Photoshop Elements. This video is demonstrated in Photoshop Elements 2024 but will work in earlier versions as well.

Check out more great Photoshop Elements tutorial videos on my YouTube channel HTGPhoto were I upload new projects every week. I show you how to get the most out of Photoshop Elements and do things you only thought possible in the much more expensive Adobe Flagship program Adobe Photoshop. So dive right in and learn something new today!

This will help me George, I work at the Zoo here in Seattle and you have no idea how many times a great shot at our aviary is ruined by fencing.

What an amazing tutorial, the end result is excellent. The clone stamp is the one tool I really struggle with, I will follow this and have a go, although it will take me many attempts, but will be great practice. Thanks George 😊

Nice training George, enjoyed it very much!!!! A tough subject handled well! Purchased the training course, looking for it to go live soon! Thank you for the deal and also for the Coach! I get stuck often and it is helpful to have a Gurus in my corner at a click of a button!!!!

I like how you used the layer mask to select the fence for removal.

Hi, George

Would I be able to "tether" (it would be an HDMI cable) from my DSLR to Photoshop Elements 15 while working on still life w/flash or still life light painting, to give a bigger image than Live View, for composition and lighting setups?
Many thanks!
