Rachel Maksy has several YouTube videos about making dresses out of recycled curtains, bed sheets, even pillow cases!

I’ve been using thrifted curtains and sheets as fabric for 15 years 😂 I can’t count the amount of times I’ve been complemented on a project, for them to turn around and get the ick after they find out the fabric was from the thrift store 🙄 maybe now thrifted fabric will get less of a stigma

Thrifted curtain panels make great tablecloths-
especially for the large utility tables.

That is absolutely beautiful! Great job!

Fabric can be expensive, especially ethically sourced and processed fabric. To be sustainable AND budget-friendly, the best fabric to get for projects are second hand curtains, drapes, tablecloths and bedsheets. My mother gave me two sets of Pima cotton bedsheets that she doesn’t use anymore that I’m using for fabric, and I found 100% linen tablecloths and silk (yes, silk!) curtains that I have for fabric. If the color matched my decor, I would hang those curtains. 😂

I do this all of the time. I found some really expensive green velvet curtains in the thrift store for only $5. I repurposed the fabric for my chairs. I wouldn't have been able to afford it full-price so I was ecstatic ^_^

on my morning walk today, i found a lovely up right piano out for
p/up. It looked lovely, i couldn't make out the brand name (puffy letters, not english), only 1 key missing 1/2 its ivory.
A crowd of 3 gathered & a man said " probably doesn't play". & then he played a nice piece, after which he stepped back & said "she has good sound". We all agreed what a shame & how it would cost about $500 to hire somebody to move it, but how it was worth it....to bad.
not judging folk, i do wonder how many guys it took to move it.
keep on thrifting STRONG!

You meant for a 420 meter of cotton from the dye factory and the prewashed to remove the circular knit grease from industrial knitting machines.
