I take Metformin ER, extended release. I find it very helpful for me. Controls blood sugar well, with very little side effects if any.

Besides me going from drinking 3L of soda a day along with horrible eating habits, I was able to bring my A1C down from 11.2 to 5.4 over the past couple of years. I dropped down to 7.2 within the first 3 months of taking Metformin.

I never knew about any of the side effects, because I've never had any. I recently was off them for 3 weeks because of a prescription foul-up and my A1C shot up to 8.2 from the low-6 range. As soon as I got back on it, it dropped down to the high 5 to low 6 range. It works for me.

But, all the meds in the world won't work with people still treating their bodies like dumps. Garbage in, garbage out. Eat right, stay active and the body helps those who help themselves.

My Metformin adventure started 8 weeks ago. My weight has dropped from 210lbs to 190lbs from Sept/22 to Nov/22. I'm not pre-diabetic, so I'm taking it off-label. Motivated after studying Dr. David Sinclair, (my son said we should be guinea pigs and do this experiment} taking Berberine, Resveratrol, NMN and practice regular intermittent fasting. He is doing it for longevity to live to 150 years. I am doing it NOT to extend my life but to reverse my biological age so that I have the cardiovascular performance, physiology and hormones of a 20 year old cyclist, yogi at the age of 100 years. I take Metformin rather than Berberine as Metformin is David Sinclair's first choice before Berberine. My target weight is to lose another 30lbs to get down to my college weight of 160 pounds over the next 3 months. I regularly fast and eat OMAD (one meal a day) and am active every day either cycling or yoga.

I never take any diabetes meds, i was told i was diabetes 12 yrs ago..so instead of take drugs, i stop eat carbs, sugary stuff, stop doda, stop smoking, and walking 5 miles a day helps too. Im 65 yrs okay now, not on any meds not even aspirin, and doing just fine. I never get sick, except once i awhile i get runny nose but that about it. I ate whole foods and drink water. Oh, my only drug is black coffee in the morning 😅😅.

Please change your eating lifestyle to more of a keto diet (it does not have to be too strict ;-) Plus add regular exercise, walks daily etc. I would strongly advise that you don't take up the easy/lazy option and swallow pills to treat your many years of unhealthy eating and lifestyle. Change YOUR life today. This is by far the healthiest option for you in the long term and will quickly achieve the same results without possible symptoms or side effects from taking Metformin. I tried the keto diet 4 years ago and made a commitment to increase my weekly exercise and it has proved very successful within 3 months. Great results. I only wish the very best for everyone reading this. Check it out the cause of diabetes x

There is nothing wrong with helping yourself . You don’t have to stay on them forever if you can use other lifestyle changes but also nothing wrong with getting help . Don’t do what I did and let the years go by and do nothing.

I really want to try this because the anti psychotics I take cause hunger. I'm getting kind of fat.

I stopped Metformin I couldn't leave the house unless I took the toilet with me, I took that for a long time and the diarrhea never stopped, asked the doctor they changed to the 500 2 in the morning and 2 at night, that's not living because I was dying from Metformin, I do insulin because I needed

With out meta I’m 10-13. With it I’m 6-7. I drink water and straight black tea. I still eat carbs just in moderation. I eat twice a day. 😊

Yo.... So you eat several carbohydrate meals a day, which puts loads of sugar in the blood. Then you take Metformin to assist insulin to push the sugar overload into the cells. There is a simpler solution, and that is if carbs are being resisted, don't eat them. We do not need carbs and all the glucose we need can be made from fat. Eat fat for energy, not carbs, and watch your glucose kevels go back to normal, your insulin level go back to normal, and you'll start to burn your body fat. Also... eat one meal a day, (possible when eating fat because fat is very satisfying) as this rests the liver and pancreas and enables them to heal.

Our medicate first "heathcare" system is reprehensible. Pills forever. Disease has been normalized and monetized.

I never took a diabetic drug. I was told I was a diabetic 18 years ago. I did my study on Metformin and it is something that diabetics should not be taking. for the 18 years I have fast. Also have taken herbs and vitamins. I do not eat after 6 p.m. my A1C is 5 and a half. My eyesight is perfect. people who I have on Metformin have gone blind and lost limbs. I have had friends die from years of taking metformin from complications of diabetes. Again as a diabetic I have never taken any type of diabetic medication in 18 years. I have perfect eyesight my A1C is 5 and 1/2. Without this medication.
