Trainer Aidan O'Brien sat down with Sky Sports Racing's Jason Weaver to re-watch City Of Troy's racecourse gallop at Southwell as the Derby star build up to the Breeders' Cup Classic!

Ryan Moore was aboard their star horse as they worked out with four stablemates and tried out US-style starting stalls.

Not a Big COT Fan For The Classic and These Other Horses Were Not Great But i Loved This Workout/Race...Ryan is Not Even Moving on COT While Rest of Horses are Pushing Their Horses and COT Just Jogs Through and Away From Them With Not Much Urging at all Really....Impressed

Giant's Causeway just missed winning the Classic by a whisker in 2000 at Churchill Downs. But for City of Troy, there's no 2-time HOY in America like Tiznow he'll have to deal with. Nor anything like a Flightline from a couple of years ago that destroyed that field. On pure, raw ability, City of Troy will be the most talented horse in the BC Classic field this year, dirt horse or not. I think he's the one that finally gets Aidan O'Brien his first win in the Classic.

Why is everyone saying southwell is nothing like dirt? This horse is bred for dirt & It's the shape of the bend it's like an American track, Else they might as well have gone to Dundalk.

I will be backing him, he's been aimed at this since he was bred.

Lol Weaver has been so negative about Troy this year and even scoffed at the idea of the Classic because in his eyes Troy wouldn’t handle the tight turns of Del Mar….but look at him sucking up here 😂😂

The horse has more than the nature of a dirt track and kickback to deal with, riding is rougher there the temperature and humidity necessitate him being run on Lasics to stop him bursting, the stall handlers are less skilled and sympathetic than in Ireland, and all that on top of all the food and environmental upsets possible in transit. And that horse needs his familiar handles at all times for reassurance as he is sensitive to changes. So it's not a done deal - I just pray he comes back safe and sound without his spirit/ confidence broken.

Not even a trial gallop.Southwell is deep but if that's the best compan ions flat out then it was a crawl.Not a pre race gallop but more a juvenile education.Needed lots faster pace but could have done the bells and whistles at home.Likely to succeed in an uncompetitive BC race but needs roughed up in race to deliver, properly.Track record only reasonable outcome

The jockey in pink should have ridden their horse out rather than take a pull 2f out. I know it's not a race under rules, but there kidding themselves if they think they can win the classic after that workout.

What a pointless gallop. This surface doesn't replicate the dirt. Why dont they just import american dirt and use it on there own gallops. Its an insult to American dirt racing that he thinks he can win a great race like the breeders cup classic without having never run on dirt.
