I used to paint in High School (I'm 71 years old now) so I've forgotten most everything...but I grab my inexpensive brushes and paints and I try. I am soooo grateful I found your video. Your training is so easy to understand, its slow enough and close enough to see. You are so easy and fun to listen too and give us hope that just maybe we can achieve something beautiful. I subbed so I can begin to binge watch you to catch up. Thank you so much for this beginner training, its perfect for what I was looking for and needed. ❤

FINALLY is right! I am 93 yrs and have doodled with watercolor for about 30 years until my moving to a senior care facility when l really got back into watercolor on my own after an online class. Love your person to person manner of teaching from the very paper and up! Your explanations made every step so very clear! I am so much in love with all aspects of it. I’ve even sketched homes, boats and a family cat that passed. Joy but not perfect. Thank you Kristi😊

Finally! someone who understands I have no artistic ability but make up for it in passion. They say when you are ready the master appears. HELLO Master!

I came for the art tutorial. I keep watching for the therapy.

It’s the fact that you are consistent about encouraging creativity over rules that makes you special.

You’re the Bob Ross of water paints.

You, Kristy, are the bomb. I'm 70 years old and just became a watercoloraholic about a year ago. I had hit a period when I felt like I was no longer improving and was feeling discouraged. I began searching the internet for tutorials. Many thanks to all of the watercolorist who so generously share their experience with all of us newbies. I learned something from all of them. BUT you have been the best "teacher"---bar none.. Your knowledge and your ability to impart it in your very practical, yet quirky way has allowed me to preserver and continue with an art form that I have come to love. Many thinks.

I thought I was artistically challenged. I can draw pretty basic but I saw all those gorgeous water colour images and figured I would NEVER be able to do ANYTHING like that even though I wished like mad I could. Then watching this video, my heart lifted and I felt like OMG, I CAN do this. I'm so excited to give water colours a try. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

For the love of God, FINALLY! The basic how-to-start steps nobody else seems to understand. Ombre, lifting, flooding, WOWD - I understood the concept, but the how-to I was missing. .. a bit talkie-talkie but good grief, THIS is what people need to learn! 💜

WOW!!!! Can not tell you how helpful this exercise has been. I'm 83 and live in a small apartment so I paint small cards to send to friends. Love the liner going outside of the lines. Controlled chaos and just enough realism to make recognizable and beautiful is all I can hope for. So happy to have found you.

Thank you just came from a video with a dude telling me everything not to do, and that is bad so and so, he felt so strict and stole joy and peace from me.

You saved me, gave me hope and joy, peace of mind, body and soul! Again Thank you I needed this!!

Glad this video showed up somehow. I used to paint decades ago, even took some classes in college and my teachers thought I was good. My mother was the number one critic, thanks to her I stopped painting. Been trying to get myself to start over, but can't get over the woman. I am now 75, nice to see people even older than me are taking the class. Thank you. (I have all kinds of supplies, just couldn't get myself to use them. I even have a studio set up in a cottage located in my backyard, that's how bad the woman affected me.) It's 4:05 AM, will go there once it's daylight.

I’ll never cease to be astounded at the things you can learn on YouTube. It’s such an amazing resource for education.

I love the way that you encourage the freedom to “break rules.” It’s all too easy to get caught up in the “right and wrongs” which can truly be an artist’s worst enemy. Thanks for your perspective!

I'm new here....retired earlier this year. I am drawn to watercolor painting, so this is my launch-point! Absolutely gorgeous...I feel calmer...more zen-like. You make it look effortless. Thank you.

I am so happy I found you! I’m 70 have had two years of health issues, enough about that. I love paper crafting, junk journaling and recently have been playing with watercolors. I love how they spread, blend and bloom! have no talent but I think you can help me learn how to take my love of watercolors to a whole new level! I’m so excited!

I’m a 37 year old momma of two. My daughter has loved painting since she was able to hold a paint brush. She’s 7. I watch her paint and it reminds me how much I loved art as a children and young adult. I stumbled across your channel and it’s just what I needed. The wonderful tutorial (your teaching method is wonderful simple easy and fun) but also the encouragement too. I’m heading out today to get supplies to begin. Thank you so much for your instruction. Looking forward to watching all your other videos. ❤

I haven't painted for years, divorce, health problems, just didn't think of it but now I feel like i want to get my watercolor stuff out. I have been in "putting it off" type feeling, I'm not going to remember how to do it, I'll have forgotten it all by now. Having these exercises makes me want to get my Watercolour collection out & just having a play, watching this video has encouraged me to get back to it. Thank you so much for inspiring me. Love & God Bless to You & yours. Love your channel. 💓
