Thanks for training me to memorize 3, 141 digits of pi! The coolest thing about this technique is that it means I can recall the digits forwards, backwards, and even stop in the middle, eat a pie, and keep going. It's so cool and I hope more people give it a shot!

Came from Sabrina’s pi video. The craziest and somehow I’m surprised, believable thing I’ve heard of recently. It just makes sense that taking on a task like this would forever change how your brain approached things.

Just confirming this for my own understanding, so to do this you will follow the below steps:
1. Assign letters using the dominic system for every number (0-9)
2. Assign a PAO for every number from 00 to 99
3. Break down pi into chunks of 6 digits where the first two are person, next two are action, and the last two are object
4. Then map the PAO for how many ever digits you want to memorize in batches of 6 using the PAO assigned to every 2 digit number in step 2
5. Break your goal into different memory palaces of 50 PAOs each
6. Memorize/Visualise the PAOs in your memory palaces

Do let me know if this is a proper understanding of the process.

PS - I am super excited to try this memory challenge with a bunch of my friends!

Hi Nelson! I wanna thank you for all the things that you helped me to learn. All those crazy mnemonics, foreign alphabets, codes. I never understood mind palace until I found you and your channel. Thanks

I liked this and AiP’s video. I’ve always wanted to work on my memory as well. I remember in secondary (high) school, I was having a lot of problems remembering language as I really struggle with memorising abstract words, sequences and symbols (I still, at 26, haven’t learnt my times tables). My teacher tried to suggest I use the memory palace technique, suggesting I put post it notes around the house, and that way I could memorise the notes and locations in my memory.

I remember at the time, thinking this suggestion was ridiculous, but I only now have the words to realise why. I suffer from relatively high levels of aphantasia. I can maybe picture the outline of a square in my head if I struggle but images don’t come naturally.

I’ve not looked deeply into it but most memory techniques seem to revolve around visualisation. Have there been any research/studies into effective memory techniques for those who suffer from aphantasia? Do you have any guidance on how to improve your memory (not necessarily to the extent of memorising thousands of digits of pi, knowing the times tables would be nice 😂) without the use of visualisation?

Very inspiring videos from both you and Sabrina! I would like to ask a question: in Sabrina's video, she used the Dominic system, but I have also heard of the Major system. Could you talk about the pros and cons of each, and if you have a specific recommendation?

See I always left review part in my college studies, I used to place all the images in my palaces and not review them. Now I got the idea. What kind of human could eat dough and berries with sugar paste in it. (Like how I just place images in my palace and left the main part, the baking or review). Thanks man, for this perspective.

Great video. Is there any online resource if i wanna recreate this process ? What is a memory palace exactly, and how you make sure you remember it. Do you write it down?

Hi Nelson, I'm a big fan, and I'm able to easily remember a couple of hundred items in a list using memory palaces.
What I'm struggling with is to remember a deck of cards. I'm terrible at assigning real or imaginary people to 52 cards (PAO). Can you recommend a better method?

I have 200 digits memorized at this point, but I haven't done anything quite like that sense I memorized a deck of cards a long time ago, so I was pretty happy. My goal is 1000 of pi

Hey Nelson.... what about people with Aphantasia? We aren't able to picture things in our minds so things like a memory palace are impossible.

Can we use the digits of pi as memory palaces??? With this way we can connect information together thus increasing the linking part of memorizing
