I'm 63 years old and just recently found out about paprika being ground bell pepper!! I really thought it was from a "paprika plant"!!! Love watching you guys!!

Never stop doing the intro where you guys come from off screen just laughing, it's good every time lol. To share my personal style here in zone 7b. I only sew squash and green beans directly in the soil in late May. Starting earlier in seed trays and then transplanting just never gives me the advantage I am hoping for so those are two veggies where the seeds go right in the ground. My exotic pepper for the season is the Scotch Bonnet pepper, I love some Jamaican food so looking forward to having authentic peppers so I can stop using habaneros as a substitute.

I love watching you two together, you are like an old married couple, so comfy and funny yet you teach me so much. I even just watch you when I know all about what your doing because you make me so happy. Crazy, but it’s how I feel. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Also, totally agree with growing fancy colored bell peppers. They aren't cheap in the store, compared to seed packet prices. I'm growing the purple ones.

My father-in-law grew Peter peppers exclusively in his tiny side yard garden. (No other peppers needed, in his opinion!) It was the only pepper he grew. He also grew various tomatoes, basil & whatever exotic fruits that he found in the local China Town. He was surprisingly successful in growing papayas, mangos or whatever he tried to germinate from seed. My dad gave him a rooted fig cutting, which ended up growing so lushly that he froze quarts & quarts of fig preserves. (EVERY YEAR...) His compost pile was famous for germinating whatever seeds of food scraps that he threw on the compost pile. (Strawberries!!!) He had an unbelievable green/gold thumb for small space gardening. I miss him...

I'm Hungarian, an paprika really just means pepper in Hungarian 😅 We have smoked paprika powder too, but it s actually a type of pepper usually from the Szeged area, that is used for drying and making paprika powder.

Chartreuse is a herbal liquor. It's a grassy green color, so the word also refers to this green hue. The liquor is made by the Chartreux monks, who were so named because of where the first Chartreux monastery was founded.

Apparently chartreuse was originally a liqueur from a monastery in France? It was that bright green colour, so it got carried over into our modern English from that

I started my first round of summer plantings a few days ago! Beans, cucumbers, okra, squash. I've had my peppers and tomatoes growing indoors for over a month. It makes me so happy that warm weather and seed starting has finally come back around. I was done with winter weather. I say with ping pong ball sized hail and severe thunderstorms currently rolling through my area 😅😅

Jacques and Kevin, you are both right about Chartreuse. It is a French liquor made by monks, from a mix of herbs. And it has the green color that is referred as chartreuse. By the way. you guys are hilarious. as always. Keep it up!

Capsicum Chinense were named so by an explorer due to how much they were used in Chinese cuisine; however, they likely originated in Peru or Ecuador, like all peppers.
