How Fast is a 4x RAID 0 in a Mac Pro? | Watch this to find out!

Hello,
Today I am going to be showing you my 4x RAID 0 Setup in my 2008 Mac Pro. The RAID 0 consists of 4x 500GB 7200RPM 32MB/Cache SATA 3.0/GBs. As you can see in the video, I get some pretty good numbers off of it. It boots fast, open programs quickly, and overall is very snappy. Especially with that 8 cores in this pup. It's very easy to set a RAID up in Mac OS X's "Disk Utility". If you want the RAID 0 to be your boot drive you need to do the "Disk Utility" from a Mac OS X boot disc. While the operating is being loaded. If the RAID is not going to be your boot drive. Then you don't need to wordy about it, just use the "Disk Utility" from the "Utilities" folder in the programs part of Mac OS X.

It's not stripped it's striped. Raid 0 is called striped because it writes parts of every file to different drives. Where did u get that speed test? I too have a Mac pro coming in and I will raid it striped across 4 drives.

LoL, i've got 4 samsung evo ssd's in raid 0, read speeds up to 1.4 gb/s 4770k @4.6 ghz, 16 gb ram 1600, rog z87, 2x gtx 760, dont buy mac, make a hackintosh instead if you realy want some performance in mac osx, or just go wundows it is better for most tasks
