I live in the UK and have driven passed Stonehenge on several occasions. I was glad to see some 30 years ago that the site had been made visitor friendly and in such a way as to preserve the monoliths and the site in general. Over the years, many hundreds of them, the site has been visited on and off for nearly 3000 years, this had left many signs of wear and tear on the monuments including signs that graffiti had been erased on more than one occasion. Some of which dated back to pre victorian times.

I wish they would stop digging omg... It's buried for reason, So leave things alone and buried under the ground.
