Following his comedic career, I honestly did not know this about Hugh Laurie. I think he's very lucky his wife gave him that second chance. I do think it's wonderful that he and Emma Thompson have such a caring and enduring friendship. Emma, Hugh, and Stephen Fry are quite a team.

I guess he's not proud of the things he did and it kept bugging him for so long and believes he's not a good person at all. I believe Hugh Laurie became depressed because of the intensity of “House.” I loved that series, but he had to play the part of someone who was broken physically (in constant pain) and emotionally broken, plus he missed his family.
