this is exactly what I do when I go out and im not having any luck with bass, that way its still fun because im catching something, and some of the bluegill have the most crazy vibrant colors on them, its awesome to see.

I caught a bluegill on a rooster tail the other day. Thing still managed to swallow the entire treble hook. They’ll eat just about anything that’ll fit in their mouth

I slack line for bluegill with no weight and live bait all the time when you're having a bad day it always works and at least you get to catch something

You can use this same method but use a fly lure. I just used it today and literally as soon as it hits the water they're like piranhas.

Usually not a difficult species to catch..most anglers start with them..I sure did. Still love them to this day.
