Dan is a testament to the great Minneapolis sound in the late 80's/early 90s and beyond. Such an incredible singer/songwriter. The raw emotion within his voice is something that can't be taught. His entire catalog from Trip Shakespeare to more recent co-writes (ie. When the Stars come out on Chris Stapleton's Traveller album) resonate so strongly with lyrical emotion. Good stuff.

I absolutely love Dan Wilson and his work. This between him and Adele and his work with Semisonic is just so amazing. I genuinely don't understand how this man is such a genius. I've only noticed one trope in his songs (going up a whole step in chorus, ex: Completely Pleased and Never You Mind) and I've only seen him use common chord progressions two and a half times. (Closing Time, Over My Head, and this song).
Such a genius.
