Can you really learn Spanish in 2 months?
I have been taking online Spanish classes with Lingoda for the past two months, so I thought it was time for an honest review of Lingoda's language learning platform. I also share my Spanish progress so you can see for yourself how much Spanish I've actually learned!

i love hearing people's reasons for learning a language. sometimes its the smallest thing. for me, I'm learning spanish simply because i'm inspired by kali uchis' album "sin miedo del amor y otras demonias"

Hola Claire!

Hey Claire! My name's Grant. From the States. I live in California currently and have been studying Spanish, and speaking it for about 10 months now. I'm still learning to speak and it's such a great journey. There are still words that I don't understand and getting used to listening to things in Spanish, as well. There's actually one guy on youtube here that I would recommend. His name is Nico Borie. He translates songs that are originally done in english, into spanish and sings them and covers them in spanish. So, as I stated in spanish, you can submerse yourself in the language completely. listening to podcasts, music, tv shows, movies, talking to yourself and taking a risk and talking to spanish speakers (hispanohablantes <-- gosh I love this word!) around you and bless them by speaking to them in their native tongue. And you'll be surprised how many people out there are more than willing to help you with your spanish and teach you some things.
like, even (don't know if you're scared of making mistakes, but) don't be scared to make mistakes. Don't be scared to make them because they actually help with learning. Something my mom keeps telling me is this: "What is FAIL? First Attempts In Learning... F.A.I.L. Blessings ^_^

Also: I need your advice because I'm looking to advance my spanish even more, and I have doubts about lingoda. I've heard lots of really good things about it, but I Don't want to spend copious amounts of cash on something that's only going to give me mediocre or subpar, at best, results. I'm looking for something that challenges me and actually works. I'm having all these feelings and thoughts that it might not work. I think I'm just scared because it's a lot of money. it is a lot of money and so like, I want to be safe, but at the same time I'm willing to take the risk if it's worth it. amen.

Excellent. I appreciate the way you’ve taken responsibility for developing your accent because for the most part, the instructors atvLingoda do not make corrections when it comes to pronunciation. One of their teachers actually told me during pronunciation is not important, which I thought was outrageous. Anyway, sigue adelante!

Excellente! Hablas muy buena! Do you study the "lingoda" materials outside of the classes? Whats your routine to review the materials? I noticed that its hard to get through the slides usually in 1 hour group class. What i do is i do the lingoda class, then i have an italki tutor (the same teacher every time) review the class i just did and we go through the slides again together. I also watch dreaming spanish, and try to take notes when i can although that doesnt go to well. I understand a lot, can speak similar to you, accept my pronounciation is absolutely HORRIBLE! lol I dont know how to pronounce things or read things well. Any advice for pronounciation? Yours is very good. Thanks

Ciao, once you learn a romance language it's easier to learn the others. I'm learning French through rosetta stone, and some audio books as well. Once I'm a bit better, I'll do language immersion through a Meetup group then a trip to Quebec. After all, after learning a language the best thing to do is experience the culture of those countries. 👍
