I hate to point this out, but I thought the Winchester mansion was built in such an elaborate way as to confuse the angry ghosts so that Mrs Winchester could escape when they revolted against her.

To me the strangest places in the world are abandoned amusement parks. They start out life as a dream-like fantasy and end up as a nightmare. What was once supposed to be charming and fun is now decayed and grotesque. Not even a cemetery symbolizes death more graphically. If I was a ghost looking for a place to haunt, this would be it. China's got an amusement park that has never been completed and now squatters are living in it and even growing crops.

Strangest places I've ever been. Church, Walmart, Arkansas, African grocery store, Jamaican night club, Mexicans home, Court room, Prison, Planet earth, Ripley's wax museum, Gay night club, the ghetto, Starbucks, High School, and any single women's bathroom.

A decent case can be made that HH Holmes was the notorious Jack The Ripper. Evidence shows he was in fact in London during the time of the ripper killings.

Greetings from Cluj-Napoca, Romania. I'm currently situated 30 mins walking from the Hoia Baciu forest. We do get weird vibes from time to time, but we have a lot of traditional totems or self protection habits (so to speak) that occur naturally. As a form of protection, or awareness, is having animals around. They make noises, they react and keep the bad energies at bay. Everything is oddly ballanced. A reason why I like and I am grateful for this land. :3

The first two sound primarily like stories dealing with superstitions and imaginations running wild. But the third story, now that's something I'd like to learn more about. This could change the way we look at nuclear physics in a significant way.

The strangest place I've ever been is to a dead ocean. Black as oil still without movement and as far stretched as the ocean but it's a lake. The edge of the lake is completely and utterly covered fish bones that's been crushed to a point that its almost like sand. True story

The strangest place I've ever been was a crematorium in Bucharest. The place was creepy as hell and it was built in the 1920's.

I watched this, and now I'm worried about NSA checking my computer. Time to get the tinfoil hat out!

The Elephant's Foot.

An artifact within Chernobyl NPP that is so radioactive, that according to legend, if you get close enough to see it with your own eyes, you've already gotten a lethal dose of radiation.

There needs to be a well made, bad-ass horror flick made about H.H Holmes.
It would be the best horror/serial killer film ever made.

Go to my hometown of Centralia, PA. The town has been burning from the inside out since 1962, and was the inspiration for the movie "Silent Hill." Is it really still on fire, or did the state evacuate everyone in order to claim the mineral rights to the area? Or maybe it's something they just didn't want us to know.

The other strange forest to look into, but avoid like the plague is Japan's Aokigahara Forest, aka the "Suicide Forest." What drives hundreds of citizens to end their lives there every year? It could be something they don't want you to know.

One of those strange places you are talking about is located in Bulgaria. It's called Cross forest and it's believed that there is a piece of the true cross below the church. Bulgarian forums are full of many strange experiences and even UFO sightings that changed many people's lives.
