Thanks for this very informative tutorial, Maike. I’ll definitely look in on your others videos!
I’m curious about relative mappings.
I’d like to assign a single pedal to activate looper objects on 4 separate tracks, but I want that pedal to execute the function only on the selected track. Then I could assign a knob to toggle between those 4 tracks. Is this an example of relative mappings?

Hi Maike,

It's quite simple for knobs and CC msg or Note msg on keyboard
But some Midi msg must be specific config in Ableton Live :
-momentary "Note msg" with 2 values,
-Latch Button with 1 value on,
-Ableton Looper needs a Note Midi msg, I think
etc...

Can you tell me how can we know the exact kind of Midi msg Ableton is wating for ?

Thx

NB : May be I felt on the 2 or 3 exceptions that makes me mad...

Is there a way to map and sequence the record arm selection? For example, for live jams, my main MIDI controller plays through what ever synth is armed. I want that synth to change every 8 bars (for example) . So the drums, bass, backing etc all stay them same, yet the synth I am controlling for lead lines changes to a different synth at the end of 8 bars automatically. I know record arm can be controlled via MIDI mapping, but I can only get it to change which track is armed via a MIDI note-in from my controller at the moment (or a tedious mouse-click). I want to be able to sequence this (create a record-arm selection clip) so it automatically changes which track is armed from this pre-recorded clip and I don’t have to press a key every 8 bars to change which synth my leads are playing through when playing live. Thanks!

I have nanopad2 with 16 trigger pads. How can I assign note C to pad 1, note D to pad 2, note E to pad 3 and so on. I plan to use the nanopad2 to play bass. Please help.

Hey I've got a problem with a midi keyboard. When I practice with my band we set up our pianist with a keyboard through an amp controlled by an audio interface and ableton on a laptop. It works really well, but the last time something went wrong, and what would normally by the pitch slider on a keyboard was now mapped to the volume slider on ableton. Also, a few of the notes on the keyboard were assigned to the record and play function in ableton itself. When going through the custom midi mapping section it didn't show any custom mappings at all and no matter what we tried we couldn't get rid of those mappings. Not even turning of remote on the link midi tab via preferences was doing anything. Does anybody know how I can solve this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

How do I save this? Do I have to remap every time I have a live performance?

1. I have an issue where I use 2 midi controllers with knobs on them that I map to different macros. But, when I try to map each separate controllers knobs to it's each respective set of fx macros I am unable to keep them separate. For example I touch one controller's knob and it effects both its macro and the other midi controller's macros too. Is there a way to fix this? I also have another issue.

2. I have a instrument/multiple drum rack setup where it has fx macros mapped to it and its also on a chain selector setup so I can change the different kit/rack sounds from song to song for live performance. But, the issue I have is that when I swap to a new kit I want to be able to effect the different fx macros to effect the kit and I want to spit out the signal to separate tracks to send to separate outputs to be able to send to FOH for better mixing capabilities and separation live. Does anybody know of a work around for this that would also not be super CPU intensive (e.g. having full chain selector racks setup on every separate track that I want to spit out to FOH)?
