when the hand goes in the hat, the magician curls his wrist and arm to look like it disappears
edit: i think tere are 2 options, either the one i said ORRR that from the person's view the hat is ever so slightly tilted back towards the magician, so when the hand goes through the hole in the top of the hat (like the video said) it wouldnt be visible to the persons eye (btw ty for the likes and sorry for rambling)

I know without reading the comments, since I’ve had a friend who has shown me how to do this. On the opposite side of the hat, he cut a hole. When preforming, the side with the hole will not be facing the audience. They put their hand in the hat and bring it back in the hole towards themselves at an angle so the person who is watching doesn’t see his hand. Or, depending on how big the hat is vs your hand, you might be able to arch your hand inside the hat so it fits.
