You’re a rockstar for keeping this to your brilliant short and sweet format and resisting the urge to make this a 20 part series ❤🎉 Great panel!

Dynon display customization options are really note worthy. Ever wanted that indicator larger or in different shape or even place? BAM you can change it how ever you want... withing reason.

Awesome analysis. So many people that have never flown behind a modern avionics suite cannot grasp the monumental difference in capabilities and especially situational awareness this new technology provides. Avidyne equipment is also fantastic, as I recently flew a Cirrus with it and it is equally incredible. Synthetic vision was in the realm of Star Wars to me but I immediately became a fan on my first approach. My Garmin 530/ King panel which I was so proud of in my Tr182 now screams at me to be upgraded. The feature that the Dynon has that I love is the angled button panel that you can rest your hand on. If it is even mildly bumpy manipulating touch screens or button pads is difficult without a place to anchor your hand.

I had been wondering why I hadn't seen many new videos from you of late. This explains it.
You have become my go to when I need a quick review of whatever GA airplane I'm pondering at the moment.
Always informative, always entertaining. Thanks!

I’m an old school guy. Helicopter pilot by trade. But I love planes with round motors and steam gauges. A little over a year ago I transitioned from firefighting in Hueys to SPIFR in a EC-135 and my god my whole perspective changed. Yea the old planes are still cooler. But if you have to work a machine and especially if you’re IFR glass cockpit and autopilot sure make life easier.

Glad to see you back! I started to get a little worries when you hadn't uploaded in 6+ months, but now I know why!

Wow! It's so impressive. All of the days in the cold hanger during our cold Canadian winter has paid off for you. Congratulations ... great job!

GORGEOUS!

And also strengthening the reason why the plane I buy should be EAB or E-LSA. Or even a S-LSA re-registered in E-LSA. Then again, that all changes soon when MOSAIC final rule is released. (I know, US stuff.)

If you have old gauges I would recommend upgrading by getting something like a gnc 355 same capabilities with no need to scrap your entire panel

I upgraded my grumman to glass a couple years ago. The safety enhancement can’t be beat. Went with Dynon and have no regrets.

As usual, an awesome video. Looking at the Garmin display, it seems clean and less cluttered, while the Dynon looks busy and harder to scan quickly. Would love your detailed take on that observation. The decision tree you presented makes eminent sense, but I’m mainly interested in the user interface and experience while flying, rather than any of the issues you mentioned (save for the horizontal/vertical orientation bit).

We did a partial upgrade last year too and battled major QA issues of the parts ordered, not very helpful customer service and unnecessary delays.

Still worth it, especially the new aluminum panel!

Came back into flying after a 15 ye hiatus into experimental Light Sport. Having not much experience with Glass, the Dynon and their autopilot that was in the plane I bought, made getting back in the saddle a breeze...id never go back to steam, unless I was kicking and screaming . Love Dynon, great choice!

Congratulations on the new panel. Your RV is now the aviation equivalent of a mullet - business in the front, party in the back (or, everywhere else in this case). Very nice mullet.

I'm enjoying the shift in subject matter AND it still counts as a "complete walkaround" of your panel install (and great balance of illustrations, real world footage, and your signature narrative style)! You really could do a "complete walkaround" of anything, which this video demonstrates. Great to see you again posting!

Please please please do a cost to own video on the Maule aircraft. I'd love to see either the m5 or m7 tail. Great vids, keep up the great work.
