Pretty brave and admirable to treat his friends if his card declined for $125. I wouldn’t treat myself, hell I just stay at home sleeping.😢

That's LA dude. EVERYTHING is expensive there.

You see, that was your mistake. You went to LA

Yeah, expensive restaurants and cafes/coffee shops are one of the unfortunate things about living in the US. Only reason to go out to them is if they're the closet third-space to go to other than a library (parks are great, except for days with bad weather and in some places it's unfortunately often where there's bad/inhospitable weather). I don't always go out for food, but have only head out to places like Starbucks because it's the best way I can get breaks away from my family (staying at home isn't always a healthy option, especially if it promotes a sedentary lifestyle and it's hard for family not to step on each other's toes/be in each other's personal space).

Los Angeles prices > prices literally anywhere else on earth

Just so you guys know some cards let either decide to or sometimes automatically pick a spending limit on things purchased 1. Outside of your normal neighborhood 2. Not through a normal retailer like Walmart to prevent credit card scams. $100 and $500 are normally limits depending on the cc company

I instantly knew he was talking about LA the second he said "the prices of food is insane"

5 sandwiches here would probably be about $65, roughly $13 per sandwich. Which is still too much when you could buy the raw ingredients and make it yourself for $10 and come out with many more than 5 sandwiches

Especially in the last couple years- the price gouging “due to inflation” that the large corporation food processors (above some actual inflation)- were getting screwed over so hard….

Depends on where you live, obviously. States like California are notoriously expensive to live in, no matter how much they provide livable wages. New York City is also a black hole where you throw your money and get little in return.

But go to more rural or suburban areas and it’s relatively easier. And more peaceful. It really depends on the the lifestyle you want to live.

I feel like anyone who lives in Cali should know that LA, SF, and other big cities around are pricey. But that's not to say most places are "pricey" to some degree, some are def cheaper. This should be a note to those outside of Cali and/or states

Yeah I've never understood vacations and such to these cities. I'm sure there's tons to do but oh man those cities are freakin expensive even for Americans. I could go and get a sub here in Michigan for like 11$. Depending what shop you go to you can probably get it for cheaper than 11$ too.

The prices of food has double (some have tripled) ever since the pandemic started. The only real metric is that the food conglomerates are choosing to raise prices, and people keep paying them.

5 sandwiches at a local place near me would be $40 at most.

What people don’t realize about America is most things you notice are only specific to that specific area of America

The problem was you didn’t go to a run down store ran by an old Mexican dude. I go there every once in a while to buy bread and homie gives me some freebies sometimes. That guys a fucking baller and I know it.

That is so weird !! I just want to the USA for the first time because of my work and food was so much cheaper over there compared to Denmark, that we was eating out almost everyday. The meat prices was dirt cheap in the local walmart ! I was eating like a king.
