My dad did this type of work in northern Alberta for 6 years before he could become a drilling engineer; these people deserve way more respect than what society gives them.

Spent many days & nights doing the exact same thing. Pulling out & running in. I enjoyed working the rigs. 7yrs

Rain/shine/snow or storm or hurricane this is 24/7 work nonstop. Respect dignity & integrity to every rig crew from man/Driller/Toolpusher/DS. Keep up the good work & safety

I roughnecked in AUSTRALIA on a national T32 Rig in 1983 survived without injury but was the toughest job I have ever done. No regrets.

Thank you to all the oil rig workers who keep our houses warm, our cars moving, for all the products made from oil, keeping the lights on, our roads paved. Im sure im missing a bunch of stuff but oil is the lifeblood of the world. There’s no denying it.

Roughnecking on a drilling rig is a fun job when you're green, in your early 20's and hungry for money.

The safety is in each man knowing exactly what he is supposed to do, when he is supposed to be doing it, and then executing it

I wouldn't last an hour. Utmost respect to the hard working people who do this so i can charge my Ipad. They deserve twice what they're paid...

I did it 50 years ago. We worked short handed a lot because not many people wanted to do that kind of work.

I roughnecked on the Sedco H in the mid 70's off Sable Island Nova Scotia and this video brought back memories of a crew working well together

I done this for 18 years . You earn every penny you make. Working on that floor for 12 hours making a bit trip doesn’t matter if it’s 100 degrees or -35 wind chill you still done the job.

Smooth is fast. And safe.
I worked on Ocean Victory 81-82.
Never scared of a workplace since.

I'm sorry but watching these guys work is extremely humbling!! I mean, these men have an extremely dangerous job that requires precision movement, concentration and execution under incredible pressure. Nothing but pure respect from this American man!!

I did this for four years in the 1970 ‘s, dirty, dangerous job . My advice for anyone thinking of doing this, get an education of some sort .

Any body who says they have had a tough day at work should look at these guys, this is a tough, hot, dangerous job you don’t see them complaining

I drill wells in Arizona on a drilling rig. Cool to see how different rigs work and operate. The one I work on had a Kelly and a separate block instead of a two in one. Nice work
