Barney was an A student till Homer introduced beer to him a day before the SAT ruining the potential he had. But now he still showed his potential as that film he made "Don't Cry For Me I'm Already Dead" which shows his life as a drunk. I find this to be a metaphor to something, don't get too attached to something as it will consume you and either ruin your ambitions if it stays or leaves or head in a different direction till reality hits. That beer could represent many things a cigarette, a dog, or even love. The rose can represent hope slowly decaying to nothingness as each peddle falls but stops, representing you being stuck in time there's no change. You probably will overcome whatever it was but you probably won't be who you were back then cause you are rather a remnant of your former self.

I'm not a Simpsons person so I usually do not recognize the characters that are used in these videos but I always enjoy them nonetheless. When I came across this video it really struck me down in a way that the others never did. Probably because I could relate to this characters story in a strange way. After looking up Barney and reading his story I really felt this video deep down. The alcohol proving to be more of a metaphor for my own aspirations collapsing into themselves and myself just spiraling out of control like I feel right now. Unfortunately I don't have alcohol or anything else or anyone else to fall back upon, just myself. Whether Barney was written as a complete joke from the beginning or not I don't care because I really found something with him and this amazing video interpretation of his life really set me back for a moment. I'm thankful for the people who made this and the types of people that make up the fan base. Peace Barney, take it easy.
